Abstract

To increase economic growth and the welfare of the Sasiil Village community, it is necessary to apply an
energy independent village model that can later answer the problems in Sasiil Village, some of the
problems are electrification, economics, and education. This energy independent village is expected to be
a way out to resolve the problem by utilizing the natural resources available in Sasiil Village. The main
problem in Sasiil Village is the electrification needed for community housing, home industry and
education support. In general, the majority of electricity producers in Indonesia are supplied from fossil
sources. Meanwhile, distribution to the islands is constrained by the difficulty of access to islands,
therefore it is necessary to conduct an analysis of the potential and development of renewable energy
sources found in this village. This study examines electrification scenarios to supply 1198 households
with 2,587,680 kWh per year by utilizing the HOMER Energy Modeling software for hybrid system
scenarios and social studies using in depth interview methods. The HOMER Energy Modeling software is
used to conduct optimal analysis for a hybrid energy system. Analyzing renewable energy sources from

wind and solar to design a system scenario to meet the needs of electrification and educate the public
about the introduction and deeper knowledge about technology with renewable energy sources. Social
studies are carried out by analyzing the results of interviews conducted with village officials, community
leaders, and the community. Aligning three aspects namely technical aspects, economic aspects and social
aspects can overcome the problems that often occur in a technology development project with renewable
energy sources
