ANALISIS INTERFERENSI BAHASA INGGRIS OLEH PEDAGANG ACUNG DI KAWASAN PARIWISATA KUTA, BALI
Abstract
This study aims to describe and analyze the phenomenon of English language variation used by hawkers in Kuta. The development of tourism in Bali, especially in Kuta – one of the most popular tourism area in Bali, caused language contact. The emergence of language contact between different languages at the same time in a multilingual society can trigger the phenomenon of English variation. The theory used in this study is the theory of language contact and interference by Weinrich (1953). This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method which the discussion was presented descriptively. The result showed that language contact which used by hawkers in Kuta caused interference phenomenon which occurred at the ponological, morphological, and syntactic level.
