KECERDASAN SPIRITUAL DAN KUALITAS KEHIDUPAN KAMPUS PADA KINERJA MAHASISWA DENGAN BUDAYA MAHASISWA SEBAGAI VARIABEL MODERATING

Abstract

Kecerdasan spiritual dan kualitas kehidupan kampus menarik untuk dikaji dalam kontribusinya pada kinerja mahasiswa.  Di dalam penelitian ini, pengaruh kekuatan budaya mahasiswa terhadap kecerdasan spiritual dalam mempengaruhi kinerja mahasiswa; dan terhadap kualitas kehidupan kampus dalam mempengaruhi terhadap kinerja mahasiswa disertakan sebagai moderating variable.  Penelitian yang dilakukan di kampus Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya terhadap mahasiswa Strata Satu Ilmu Manajemen ini menggunakan mixed method kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif analitis. Kinerja mahasiswa dipengaruhi oleh kualitas kehidupan kampus dimana moderating variable budaya mahasiswa memperkuat pengaruh kedua variable tersebut. Sedangkan kecerdasan spiritual tidak mempengaruhi kinerja mahasiswa, dimana budaya mahasiswa pun sebagai moderating variable tidak dapat memperkuat pengaruh variable kecerdasan spiritual terhadap kinerja mahasiswa. Implikasi penelitian ini bagi institusi perguruan tinggi adalah bahwa institusi pendidikan dapat memberikan memperhatikan kualitas kehidupan kampus dan budaya mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan kinerja mahasiswa. Walaupun diperoleh temuan yang menunjukkan tidak berpengaruhnya kecerdasan spiritual terhadap kinerja mahasiswa bukan berarti institusi pendidikan tidak perlu memberikan perhatian pada aspek kecerdasan spiritual. Karena secara spesifik, kecerdasan spiritual akan memberikan outcome yang berupa pembentukan karakter dan moral. Keterbatasan jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini untuk generalisasi hasil yang lebih luas dan pada mahasiswa dari jurusan yang lebih beragam, dan penggunaan variable di luar kecerdasan spiritual, kualitas kehidupan kampus sebagai variabel yang mempengaruhi kinerja mahasiwa menjadi masukan bagi penelitian mendatang.
