This condition can affect forest damage and have negative impacts such as flooding, decreased soil fertility, loss of flora and fauna and biodiversity, including climate change. Therefore, a sustainable and community-based forest management program is needed by paying attention to local wisdom in the community in order to create sustainable forests and provide social, economic, and other benefits. One of the forest management programs carried out in Bali Province is social forestry. This study aims to describe the implementation of social forestry and the principles of its implementation in an effort to improve the welfare of local communities and forest conservation. Social Forestry program has some goals, such as to (i) improve the condition of natural resources in forest areas in order to provide benefits for agriculture and communities around the forest; (ii) provide materials for firewood needed by communities around the forest; etc. To achieve this goal, social forestry implemented by the community at the study location through the Social Forestry Group (SFG) has implemented several important principles, namely productive, productivity, the welfare of farmers and local community, and sustainability. Some efforts needed are empowering the capacities of local community through the programs of socialization, agricultural extension and training for farmers through their groups related to agricultural diversification.
Gede Sedana Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/487 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 RICE FARMING MANAGEMENT TOWARD CLIMATE CHANGE: CASE OF RICE FARMING DEVELOPMENT IN BALI PROVINCE-INDONESIA https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/489
Climate change, which is a global issue, has a significant impact on the management of rice farming, including in Indonesia. The productivity and quality of rice can decrease further if climate change is not addressed properly by farmers and the government. The decrease in production is caused by the availability of irrigation water which is uncertain and even very small or too large. In the case of Bali Province, Indonesia, rice farming management is carried out by farmer organizations which are locally called subak as a traditional irrigation system. This study aims to determine the management of irrigation and rice farming by subak, and to describe the efforts made by subak in overcoming irrigation problems as a result of climate change. This study was conducted in subaks in Bali with respondents who were subak administrators who were selected by purposive sampling. The results of the study showed that irrigation management is based on the philosophy of tri hita karana and is regulated through consensus and agreement among farmers which is stated in internal regulations called awig-awig. Some of the main activities of subak are water distribution and allocation, operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, conflict management, fund management and religious ceremonies. Efforts made to overcome irrigation water problems are mitigation and adaptation by regulating planting patterns, planting schedules, good agricultural practices (seeds, fertilizers).
Naori Miyazawa, Ni Made Intan Maulina Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/489 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 FOREST MATERIALS BASED LEARNING MODULE FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE: PROBLEM BASED LEARNING ORIENTED https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/507
The total of indigenous people who live in 70 nations is more than 370 million. The coastal area of Jerowaru, East Lombok Regency, has significant potential for mangrove ecosystem management. However, data on carbon content in mangroves in this region is still limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the carbon content in mangroves in the area. The objectives of this study include identifying the carbon content in various mangrove species in Jerowaru, East Lombok Regency, and evaluating the influence of biometric variables such as Diameter at Breast Height (DBH), tree height, and biomass on carbon content. This study uses a quantitative approach through direct field measurements and laboratory analysis. Mangrove samples were taken from several observation plots selected using purposive sampling based on mangrove density and species type. The variables measured include mangrove species, DBH, tree height, and biomass. Carbon content was calculated using scientifically validated allometric methods. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to assess the impact of biometric variables on carbon content. The results showed that carbon content varied among mangrove species. The species Rhizophora apiculata had a higher carbon content compared to Avicennia, Sonneratia alba, Ceriops tagal, and Avicennia rumphiana. Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) had a significant effect on carbon content (p < 0.05), while tree height and biomass also showed a positive effect, although not all were significant. The R-square (R²) value of the resulting model was 84.3%, indicating that 84.3% of the variation in carbon content can be explained by the variables in the model. This study reveals that mangrove species, DBH, tree height, and biomass contribute to carbon content in mangroves in the Jerowaru area, East Lombok Regency. The highest carbon content was recorded in Rhizophora apiculata. These findings emphasize the importance of sustainable mangrove ecosystem management to support climate change mitigation efforts. Recommendations for future research include the development of studies on psychological interventions in accuracy sports, the use of modern technology in emotion management, and cross-cultural approaches in sports psychology.
Vanagosi, KD, Johansyah Lubis, Taufik Rihatno Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/516 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 LEGAL PROTECTION FOR CONSUMERS USING SERVICES FROM ILLEGAL PRIVATE PAWNSHOPS IN DENPASAR CITY https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/517
This discussion about pawning has surfaced in the last few years as people more
and more often carry out this practice of pawning in solving the problems they face.
One of the problems behind the implementation of pawning by the community is
that the pawning process does not take a long time. In addition, a person can solve
the problems they face immediately by using the valuables they have as collateral
without having to be afraid of losing these items. The enactment of the Financial
Services Authority Regulation Number 31/POJK.05/2016 concerning Pawn
Business is a strong legal basis for OJK to supervise the pawn business as one of
the Special Financial Services Industries. This study has two formulations of the
problem, namely: 1) What is the basis for regulating private mortgages in
Indonesia? and 2) What is the legal protection for consumers who use the services
of private pawn companies?. This study uses the type of empirical legal research.
The data collection technique in this study is by conducting interviews. In this study
a legal sociological approach was used, meaning that in examining the issues
raised with facts supported by a juridical approach. Legal arrangements regarding
pawning in Indonesia are basically regulated in articles 1150 to 1160 of the Civil
Code. The issuance of the Financial Services Authority Regulation Number
31/POJK.05/2016 concerning Pawn Business explains the wider scope of the
pawn business. However, the regulations that have been set are ineffective, as
seen from the large number of private pawn companies that do not have licenses.
Regarding consumer protection from private pawn companies, it is still not
guaranteed because there are still many private pawn companies that do not have
permits to circulate in the community, which have the opportunity to commit fraud
against consumers because they do not get legal protection from private
pawnshops, so that consumers feel disadvantaged and do not get protection and
inconvenience when pawning the goods.
I Wayan Partama Putra, Nyoman Putra Wira Darma Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/517 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 JURIDICAL REVIEW OF LEGAL PROTECTION OF BUSINESSES WHO EXPERIENCE LOSSES FROM CONSUMER BAD FAITH https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/518
Overall economic development and growth, especially in the national industrial and
trade sectors have produced various types of goods and services that can be
consumed in addition, globalization and free trade supported by advances in
telecommunications and information technology have enabled the flow of
transactions of various goods and services, both made domestically and abroad.
Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection regulates consumer obligations
in Article 5 letter b, namely that violators have good intentions to carry out the
business of purchasing goods and / or services. The research was conducted in villages recognized as salak development centers in Bali, using a survey method. Activities included collecting secondary data, field observations, sampling, interviews with farmers, and laboratory analyses. Surveys were conducted across agroecosystems at altitudes of 450–780 meters above sea level, with locations selected through purposive sampling. Type dominance (D) was calculated using the formula: D = (types found / total found) × 100%. Shelf life assessment of dominant salak types was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four replications. The study identified 16 salak types: 16 types in Sibetan- Karangasem; 6 in Pupuan-Tabanan; and 4 in each of Tembuku-Bangli; Kerta-Gianyar; Petang-Badung; and Busungbiu-Buleleng. Among these, the Gulapasir cultivar demonstrated the widest adaptation and dominant, followed by Nangka, Nenas, and Gondok. No significant differences in shelf life were observed among these cultivars. After 7,5 days of storage, salak fruit began to deteriorate and eventually rot.
I K. Sumantra, I M. Sukerta, P. The Yehbuah Traditional Village community in managing the forest organizes itself into the Giri Amerta Forest Farmer Group (KTH) Yehembang Kauh Village, Jembrana Regency, Bali Province. The focus of the research starts from the form of local community wisdom in forest management, factors that determine the existence of local wisdom to be maintained. This research uses a historical research method, through four stages, namely the first heuristic, searching for and finding historical sources or collecting sources, Second, the critique assesses authenticity, namely how far the credibility of the source is. Third, the synthesis of facts obtained through the criticism of the credibility of the source, and fourth, the presentation of the results in written form. The results of the study showed that one of the communities that still maintains local wisdom in forest management is the Yehbuah Traditional Village community, Yehembang Kauh Village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency, Province, which is characterized by the fact that many forest trees that are tens or even hundreds of years old still grow in the social forestry area. For the people of Yehbuah Traditional Village, the forest is seen as an area that maintains the balance of the ecosystem, by upholding the concept of Tri Hita Karana, namely establishing harmonious relationships with nature, fellow humans, and with the creator. Trees are believed to have divine power (bayu pramana) and are like elder siblings (parents) who must be cared for so that they bring prosperity. Forests are seen as sacred areas so that in their management and utilization they always consider the aspect of their sanctity, by always carrying out the wanakerthi ceremony. Forests are not seen and positioned as merely a factor of agricultural production, but also a sacred place that is in harmony with the power of the supernatural. The Yehbuah Traditional Village Community has succeeded in managing social forestry sustainably and has been able to improve its welfare, but future challenges to the existence of local wisdom require ongoing community awareness.
I Wayan Suardika Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/536 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 FINTECH MEETS GREEN: DECODING MOTIVATIONS, TACKLING CHALLENGES, AND CRAFTING STRATEGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/537
This study aims to identify holistically the factors that drive the development of green investment platform adoption, analyze the technical, regulatory and social barriers faced, and formulate innovative strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sustainability-based investments. This approach not only minimizes
environmental impact but also generates significant additional income streams for
farmers. Through qualitative research using semi-structured interviews, this study
found that most women farmers are unaware of the economic potential of the
vegetable waste they produce. They also encounter challenges in accessing
information and technology to effectively manage the waste. Integrated waste
management can enhance agricultural efficiency, reduce waste, and boost crop
yields. Data were gathered through a modified 26-item questionnaire using a 4-point Likert scale, supplemented by open-ended questions. Descriptive statistics and Chi-Square tests were used to analyze the data. Results revealed that 85% of students viewed readings as beneficial for enhancing writing skills (M = 2.93, SD = 0.88), while 59% agreed that source texts supported essay organization (M = 2.73). However, 42% did not perceive the readings as effective for language modelling, particularly grammar (M = 2.63, SD = 0.92). Advanced-level writers showed a higher tendency to use sources for idea generation (M = 2.81) but struggled with integrating grammatical structures. Significant correlations (p < 0.05) were found between proficiency levels and students’ use of sources for ideation and citation practices. The Balinese people do not understand the existence of karang bengang. This condition makes karang bengang disappear because it changes its function and becomes a building area. The karang bengang pattern between one customary village and another is different. Many factors cause this diversity. One of them is the trust owned by the community. This is found on the karang bengang belonging to the traditional village of Ked, Taro Village. Ked Traditional Village is one of the fourteen traditional villages in the Taro Village area. The karang bengang has different uses in the north and south of Karang Bengang. If the karang bengang on the north side is used as a residence, then the karang bengang on the south side of the pemangkalan is not used to respect the existence of Lebatu Temple. This community belief has unwittingly helped the preservation of karang bengang on the south side of the settlement. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method through in-depth interviews. This can be achieved with a strategy that includes price
stabilization.increasing the bargaining power of chili sales distribution, especially
red pepper, involves the flow from farmers to the final consumer. This process
consists of various distribution channels that affect the price, efficiency and well-
being of farmers. Efficient distribution of red pepper is the key to improving the
welfare of farmers. The right strategy can ensure farmers get a decent price, by
minimizing unfair practices on middlemen and expanding market access. The
results of price optimization seen from fluctuations in red pepper prices farmers are
often stuck selling chili at low prices when the harvest is abundant, while
consumers face high prices when production decreases. A price stabilization policy
is needed through price buffer mechanisms such as the formation of reserve stocks
by the government or cooperatives. The influence of unstable prices affects the
decision of farmers to plant peppers in the next season. Farmers tend to switch to
other commodities if chili prices are often low. Product distribution such as
transportation costs and post-harvest losses are high, especially for areas far from
production centers. A Marketplace or farm app helps farmers sell chili peppers
directly to consumers or retail. The distribution chain becomes shorter, so farmers
receive better prices. Price stability increases farmers ' income by optimizing prices
through price buffer policies or agricultural contracts to reduce the impact of
fluctuations in red pepper prices. This provides certainty of income for
farmers, thereby improving their welfare. Cutting the number of intermediaries in the
distribution of red pepper through cooperatives, marketplaces, or direct
partnerships with modern markets has proven to provide higher selling prices to
farmers. It also improves marketing efficiency and lowers logistics costs. The
provision of efficient transportation cold storage facilities, and good road
infrastructure help reduce losses during distribution.
Ida Ayu Candrika Dewi Copyright (c) https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/582 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0800 THE INFLUENCE OF COMUNICATIONS ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT PERUMDA AIR MINUM TIRTA MANGUTAMA BADUNG REGENCY https://eproceeding.undwi.ac.id/index.php/icssetd/article/view/583
Perumda Tirta Mangutama faces various complex challenges, including service disruptions and infrastructure issues.
